Our vision is to eradicate poverty in a sustainable manner. We assist other NGO’s not only to be as effective as possible, but also to become sustainable and economically active. It is estimated that almost 10% of the South African population are children, representing all ethnical groups, living below the poverty line and in circumstances beyond their control.
We impact the lives of many people with a target of distributing 1 000 000 meals per annum throughout South Africa.
FOOD
The consequences of malnutrition are severe and include growth stunting, anaemia, decreased learning capacity and a weakened immune system. In an attempt to address these adverse challenges, we provide Instant Porridge that contains all the vitamins and minerals to enhance and maintain an immune system. This instant porridge requires no energy to prepare, it is mixed with water and is available in 5 flavours at a cost of less than R4 per meal. It is supplied in 10kg bags (133 adult size meals per bag/200 children size meals). One bag is sufficient to provide one meal per day each for a family of four.
ECONOMIC ENABLEMENT
Poverty does not necessarily drive negative social behaviour e.g. theft, prostitution, drugs etc. Hunger does. Poverty can be the catalyst that causes malnutrition and hunger. Our ultimate goal for the community is serving the community through the sustainable programs whereby the scale of poverty and malnutrition will be diminished. The result being that the community is uplifted and the balance is restored. No child should suffer from the ramifications of malnutrition/hunger. This can be altered by changing the ecosystem. Therefore, we encourage communities to participate in these life changing initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Education and training form part our daily activities. As an invention to help eradicate poverty and uplift the skills of community members, we are currently embarking on implementing various programs.
